Revlon + Reflexology

So this is a bit of a random post - but really, aren't they all?

On my last post, Kimmie had commented about how lipstick is such a pain in the butt.  It gets on everything like your straw, apple and for me - M or G's sweet little cheeks.  Here is a lovely solution.  Lip Stains!  They have been a huge trend over the last year with the drugstore makeup brands.  I want to say that Cover Girl was first, but Maybelline and Revlon both have them now too.  I have tried all three.  Each one has remarkably similar characteristics to a crayola marker and are super goof proof to apply.  For me the Cover Girl and Maybelline versions are pretty drying.   No bueno.
My pick of the bunch is Revlon's Just Bitten lip stain and balm.  The and balm portion of this product makes it appear as though you are wearing lipstick except no goopiness.  Aaaand your kids (significant others, dogs, friends, etc) won't look like they have strange rashes on their cheeks.  So that's a win, too.  I use the color "Forbidden" but almost all of them look pretty gorgeous.

Of the higher end products, it looks like Josie Maran and Givenchy both make similar crayola marker style lip stains priced around $25 each.  The drugstore brands run from $6-9 dollars.  Although, it is hard to get a read on how the color will look with the cheapies so you may end up buying a few before finding your match -- which would defeat the purpose of going the "cheap" route in the first place!

In other riveting news.  Today was Mister Peanut Butter Hand Print's birthday.  I treated him to lots of yummy food and a "foot" massage at a local Chinese reflexology place.  Is it just Seattle or are these popping up everywhere?  For $25 he got a fully clothed hour long massage of his entire body.  He was in heaven.  I smell a date night idea coming on!

I am out - this truly was my most random post yet but I hope you're enjoying this President's Day Weekend!

I love lipstains too but I have such a hard time finding a color I like. Right now I'm really liking a Vincent Longo lipstain in Baby Boo and a covergirl one in Cherry something. I'll have to try that Revlon one you mentioned!

(oh I saw your comment on MK's bnlog so I had to check your blog!)

I'm glad you posted about this. I had tried Cover Girl's lip stain, but I also found it very drying, which made me hesitate about trying Revlon's version. I'll have to give it a shot!

Oooh lip stains sound pretty awesome, but do they do "nude" lipstains?! haha, oh well. maybe when i'm ready for the red lips i'll try it out :)

Those chinese foot massage places have been popping up everywhere! We went to one in redmond a few weeks ago and it was AWESOME. so we decided to visit one down the street from our house and I'll just say it was the WORST massage I've ever had. It was seriously so painful even after telling the lady multiple times that it hurt (and there was no language barrier, because I spoke to her in Chinese!) and my husband felt the same way. Not going back there!
